Gearboxes for single-screw extruders of “large dimensions”
Zambello Riduttori has increased the “ZPE” range of gearboxes for single-screw extruders, as shown in the new brochure C5-07 (Torque multipliers for single-screw extruders). The new sizes suitable for single-screw extruders of “large dimensions“ are as follows: - ZPE2 and ZPE3/ 450 - ZPE3/ 500 - ZPE3/ 560 Gearbox cases made of spheroidal grey cast-iron, which offer the possibility to use different thrust bearing sizes for the single gearbox dimensions. Furthermore, manufacturing of the new size 630 made of welded steel construction has been started. This gearbox enables output torque transmissions (Mt) up to 450’000 Nm.

Gearboxes for co-rotating twin-screw extruders: TST series (Twin Super Torque)
The increasing demand for higher performances coming from the manufacturers of extrusion machinery induced ZAMBELLO Riduttori 3 years ago to develop the new TST (Twin Super Torque) gearbox range for co-rotating twin-screw extruders. The gearboxes of this new series have been developed by featuring excellent compactness and by optimising the distribution of loads. The new system of torque distribution has enabled us to increase the maximum output speed (now up to 1800 rpm.) and also the density of the transmissible torque (up to 35 Nm/cm3). The types now available start with a minimum centre distance of 21.5 mm and at present reach 90 mm as the maximum distance of axes.
